Government Discriminates against Veterans

I am a Viet Nam veteran, I was wounded by Friendly Fire when I caught a guy ripping off one of my friends. My injuries were severe, I was awarded 100% disability.

Because of these things I became interested in how our government cares GI's that are treated when they become dependant on the United States government for care, income, and all the things that a wounded or handicapped individual needs.

The government went thru a grueling period after someone saw to appalling conditions the current veterans were being exposed too, finally getting its hospitals up to par(maybe). Now these are the same hospitals that WWll, Korean, and Vietnam veterans have used for years! What was the difference, did the veterans of the current "wars" fight harder, did the support troops fail to keep everything running and well oiled?OR did the United States do what it always does, the bear minimum it had to do to "get by". In Arizona the Prosthetics department repaired a mans wheelchair leg supports with tongue depressors and tape. (must have been a Vietnam Vet)

If you morons would face facts every military man who serves serves "in combat". I spent Christmas Day of 1965 with the 56th Signal in "Happy Valley" being shelled and rocketed for about 24 hours. Not a combat situation. I was in a convoy that went threw Pleiku Pass and was ambushed, not a combat situation! What the hell is a combat situation?

Now when there is an upgrade in benefits it has a date associated with it. So, if you haven't fought in the current war there is a whole new set of benefits that because of a DATE your not qualified to receive.

I want to say "Thank You" to all men and women who have taken up arms to protect America.

To all government officials and those who run the Veterans Administration are basically just doing a job when they should be fulfilling a dream!

Why? Because the Veterans Administration and the Congress have found ways to circumvent paying the total benefit to ANY veteran. We have basically become a line in the economy, how small can the government get?

As a group and a government you are failing to support those who love their country most.

There is an election coming up lets get rid of everyone and start over with politicians that don't make fun of how they are not taking care of our borders. I think that every time we catch an illegal that when we have a bus load we send them to the President so he can "get a handle" on just how many "gator's" we need in our mote!
