The Veterans Administration and its focus have changed drastically since I became a patient there back in nineteen seventy two. They had been serving veterans from WWll and Korea when they were overwhelmed with Vietnam Veterans most of which had "issues" about how they were being portrayed in the media and how the public was all ready to assume that the label "baby killer" was an accurate one! I know this is old news to those of you who are Vietnam Veterans and to those of you who might be employed by the VA.

When I decided to add this page it was going to be to beat on the VA for its misunderstanding and inability to adjust its care to try to bring Vietnam Vets into the fold. But I've discovered that its not the people who we all deal with(with a few exceptions)every day its the mediocre leadership that the VA suffers from, from the Hospital right on down to those who we must deal with for compensation issues. Not the man or woman you speak to when you go in for help, the unseen minions who hold your personal fate and economic well being in their hands.

As I learn more about how the rating system works it becomes more apparent that in a number of ways it is weighted against us.
